Diablo 4 S3 Gauntlet Opening Cache of Trials Rewards Guides

If you've made it through the Gauntlet in Diablo 4 and are in the top 20, there is a reward for you! Here's what's inside each of the hard-earned caches and some thoughts on if they're worth it.

Diablo 4 S3 Gauntlet Opening Cache of Trials Rewards Guides

What's Inside the Caches?

  • Cache Quantity: Depending on placement, players will get a different number of caches for the top 20 finishers, which can be up to seven at this time.
  • Item Level Expectations: Each cache should contain items with an item level (IL) of 925 or better. A few may have slightly lower minimums—such as IL 920 gear—but shouldn't go below that.
  • Ancestral Items: The majority of these caches contain Ancestral-tier gear. Not every piece will be an upgrade though — especially for more seasoned players — but there is always a chance for something exceptional.
  • Uber Unique Potential: The ultimate prize would be an Uber Unique drop. These are rare but represent the pinnacle of itemization that players hope to find in their caches.

Evaluating the Loot

  • Stat Rolls: Players should look out for items with stats such as all attributes or critical hit chances while sifting through their rewards. Some stats might seem niche but could fit into specific builds well.
  • Usability: Not everything will fit into your current build or playstyle, but you might find a place in alternative builds that are good for trading purposes.
  • Variety: Gear types include amulets, rings, weapons, and armor pieces. Each has the potential to be a significant upgrade or valuable trading material, even if not the best for your particular build.

Feedback on Gauntlet Rewards

While this feedback doesn't indicate immediate changes we're going to make, we appreciate seeing discussions around them:

  • Item Level Consistency: Players want all rewards to have a specified minimum IL—for example, IL 925—in order to ensure that every cache feels rewarding.
  • Stat Quality: One suggestion is to provide perfect stats for items, which could incentivize more people to participate in future Gauntlet challenges.
  • Rewarding Effort: The amount of effort required to reach higher-tier placements and the rewards received seem disconnected to some players. They feel that better loot should be given for these higher placements.
