↖ The Pursuit of Duriel and Uber Uniques

Duriel — we all know him, we all hate him. But he stands between you and the Uber Uniques. In order to fight him, you'll need two Mucus Slick Eggs and two Shards of Agony in your inventory. Season 3 brings some adjustments on how these D4 materials are acquired, including a new method with which HellTide resources will be preserved indefinitely.

 

↖ Increased Drop Rates and Crafting Adjustments

Blizzard has increased the drop rates for Uber Uniques (they're still pretty rare, don't worry). The way this works is that any activity that has a chance at dropping a legendary item now has an increased chance at dropping an Uber Unique. Crafting also got updated: You can now craft a specific Uber Unique by dismantling five others; however, it's not recommended until some requirements are met due to its high cost.

 

↖ Farming Hell Tides for Cinders

To summon Gregori so he can give you Living Steel, you'll have to enter active Hell Tides. This shouldn't be too hard since Season 3 added in-game map icons that show where they are happening. Your best bet for Living Steel will be Tortured Gifts of Living Steel chests, which were also tweaked: They'll award five pieces per opening instead of just one or two if unlucky (and ten sometimes). The required amount for Cinders was reduced to 275 per chest.

 

↖ Preserving Your Cinders Between Hell Tides

When there's smoke there's fire — or something like that… If anything is certain about Hell Tides events is that they wipe cinders when they end. But here's a trick: logout as the event ends and log back in once it starts again. This way you'll avoid the cinder wipe and be able to save up some for later. The impact of this trick is increased due to Hell Tides now happening more frequently, and with only five minutes of downtime between them.

 

↖ Gathering Vashan Summoning Parts

As mentioned earlier, Mucus Slick Eggs will be put to use here. To get them, summon Vashan by collecting body parts in Whispers of the Dead events or refining resources at any Alchemist. When you have ten Grim favors you can claim a reward that includes these parts.

 

↖ Efficient Whisper Farming

Arcane Tremors events are currently active, and provide Whispers that grant multiple Grim favors upon completion — easy peasy! In addition to these, world boss fights also award both Grim favors and extra summoning parts for Vashan. Be sure to take advantage of whispers whenever they're available along other objectives or in areas with high mob density for maximum efficiency.

 

↖ Coordinating Duriel Summons

Teaming up is usually better than going solo. unless the people you're teaming up with play melee characters when everyone should be ranged (we've all been there). All jokes aside, if everyone in your party has a summon Duriel ready you can keep fighting multiple times in one session; thus increasing your chances at obtaining Uber Unique Gear.
