Diablo 4 Shard of Agony is one of the key components for summoning Duriel, King of Maggots to fight. We'll light the way on how to get this and allow you to tangle with one of Sanctuary's most fearsome enemies.

Where to Challenge Duriel?

To find this boss and fight him in combat players will need to navigate their way through the Gaping Crevasse dungeon located east of Gea Kul. The dungeon and its master start at level 100, so make sure you're ready before going in.

How to Get Shards of Agony?

The journey to getting your hands on Shards of Agony is a long one but well worth it. They are needed in order to summon Duriel and are guarded by Grigoire, an endgame boss that resides within the Halls of the Penitent. 

If you think you can defeat Grigoire and claim your prize then here's what you need to do:

1. Reach World Tier IV.

2. Have around level 75 gear.

3. Find Helltide events and locate a Tortured Gift of Living Steel chest - these orange chests require 250-275 Aberrant Cinders.

4. Collect five Living Steel items from the orange chests.

5. Head south from Ked Bardu into Hall of the Penitent.

6. Sacrifice five units of Living Steel when prompted to summon Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint.

7. Defeat Grigoire

How To Use Shard Of Agony

After finally acquiring Shard Of Agony players will have to go into Gaping Crevasse dungeon where they will see a Pestilent Altar which they must approach. Here two Shards Of Agony along with two Mucus-Slick Eggs should be placed as an offering which will call forth Duriel allowing you to finally fight him.
