Welcome brave souls to Diablo 4's Gauntlet and the ultimate Barbarian Build Tier List. Time to get bloody and ready for war. We will dive into the mightiest of all Barbarian builds that are meticulously ranked and reviewed for this guide. If you have been around the block a few times you may know already what is going to work best for you but do not worry if you're new, this guide will walk you through steps needed to dominate your foes in no time.
- Tier C - Ren Builds
- Tier B - Walking Arsenal & Hammer of the Ancients
- Tier A - Whirlwind & Thorns
- Tier S - Double Swing & Charge
↖ Tier C - Ren Builds
Although visually intimidating with their abilities like Rupture which takes out rooms easily, they lack single target DPS because of clunky animations. Although they are unique with their DOT playstyle it just doesn't keep up.
↖ Tier B - Walking Arsenal & Hammer of the Ancients
With skills like Upheaval, Walking Arsenal builds are known for being easy geared and having solid early-game performance. They don't scale as well after level 100 though so keep that in mind if you plan on using these later.
Hammer of the Ancients (HotA) builds can be very fast but require high-quality gear to deal damage at its peak effectiveness. It's stop-and-go nature can be clunky so keep that in mind when choosing what build suits your style best.
↖ Tier A - Whirlwind & Thorns
When optimized with maximum Fury these Whirlwind builds featuring Death Blow make a strong case as Gauntlet contenders. With near-max movement speeds and quick boss kills they're hard to pass up. They're also easy geared with simple playstyle which makes them top tier.
Thorns has risen recently because of new uniques and aspects bringing insane amounts of tankiness while still maintaining impressive movement speed through skills like Lunging Strike they excel at dungeon traversal but enemies have to actively attack to maximize damage output so keep that in mind when planning your build.
↖ Tier S - Double Swing & Charge
Double Swing builds with Twisters have a great combo of speed, tankiness and area-of-effect damage. Berserking will never go away so you won't be stuck twiddling your thumbs between rooms.
Charge is the king of speed runs in the Gauntlet right now. With 100% uptime on berserking and Charge it's just a never-ending train of destruction through enemies and terrain. Low gear requirements with high scalability make Charge an easy choice for those wanting to climb the leaderboard.
Conclusion
These rankings offer a peek into what Barbarians will have at their disposal in Diablo 4's Gauntlet. Obviously some builds will work better than others in certain scenarios but each one has its own brand of chaos that can be high effective if played correctly. Your preferences will obviously be different from someone else so choose wisely!
